​

When Abuela dies while their parents are off on a Caribbean cruise with no intention of returning, three estranged siblings must come together to arrange her funeral—despite clashing personalities, deep-seated grudges, and conflicting feelings about Abuela herself.

Black Bird (SR71) has been in Maria’s nightmares since she was a girl growing up in Nicaragua in the post-revolution 1980s. Now, as an adult living in the United States, she receives guidance from El Güegüense, a character of a Nicaraguan satirical drama from the 16th century who is a symbol of resilience for all Nicaraguans.​

Gabriel siempre ha sembrado sus frutas, verduras, y otros cultivos para sostenerse él y su familia. Aunque ya está solo, y está en contra de la ley, Gabriel sigue gozando de sus siembras y cosechas. Su hijo, Manuel, quiere llevarlo a una casa de asilo de ancianos y así poder vender la propiedad.

 

The Year is 2035. The world has changed; due to the power of Agri-Business, it is illegal to grow your own food. Gabriel has always grown his own fruits, vegetables and other crops to support his family. Although now he's alone, and even if it's against the law, Gabriel still enjoys planting and harvesting his crops. His son, Manuel, wants to take him to a nursing home and sell the property.
